had the insane privilege of attending Butler’s lecture back in November and the echo of their words have followed every anxiety and existential crisis I’ve experienced regarding America’s contemporary moment,

my dad read Kafka’s The Trial after I spoke so much of it to him when I was reading it for a class all about Kafka’s work I took Fall 2024 — I’ve tried to sit down to re-watch this lecture with him, but it keeps falling through. I can’t imagine how he could continue to pass off the gravity of ICE’s horrendous violence after listening to Butler’s lecture.
